KEVIN CONNELL is a Professor of Theatre Arts at Marymount Manhattan College (New York City). He is the former Managing Artistic Director of Weathervane Playhouse (Newark, OH), where he worked from 2014-2019, and is the Co-Founder/Artistic Director of Blueprint Theater Project (BlueprintTheaterProject.org). Kevin was the Period Style and Etiquette Coordinator for the 2012-2013 Broadway production of The Heiress and currently serves on the Board of the Newark Ohio Pride Coalition. Directing credits include: Gypsy, The Full Monty, High School Musical, I Hate Hamlet, A Chorus Line, Blood Brothers, A Comedy of Tenors, Peter and the Starcatcher, The Music Man, One Man, Two Guvnors, and To Kill a Mockingbird, at the Weathervane Playhouse (Ohio); The Importance of Being Earnest, An Ideal Husband, The Triumph of Love, Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime, and The Rivals, at the National Black Theatre/Take Wing and Soar Productions (NYC); Baby with the Bathwater for Ground UP Productions (NYC); Romeo + Juliette for the Collective Company (NYC); Our Country’s Good, Spring Awakening, O Pioneers!, Triumph of Love (musical), Time and the Conways, She Stoops to Conquer, Hello Again, Approaching the End of a Summer, Finding the Sun, The Ugly Duckling, Richard II, The Spitfire Grill, Trojan Women, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Reverse Transcription, at Marymount Manhattan College (NYC). He performed in the play Temporarily Yours, (also playwright) at the 2001 Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Scotland). Additionally, Kevin has performed in productions at The National Theatre (London), La Jolla Playhouse (San Diego, CA), Steppenwolf Theatre Company (Chicago, IL), TheatreWorks USA (NYC/Tour), The Wayside Theatre (Winchester, VA), TheatreFest, NJ (Montclair, NJ) and Pinewood Film Studios (London), among other credits. He attended The Ohio State University (BFA) and the University of California, San Diego (MFA). He is a proud member of the Actors’ Equity Association and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
